OUR COMMUNITY LEGACY PROJECT

PERRYSBURG ROTARY COMMUNITY PARK, PERRYSBURG, OHIO

What began as a dream in the late 1990’s has turned an empty field into a vibrant community park enjoyed by people of all ages. Through a continued effort by Perrysburg Rotarians and a partnership with the city of Perrysburg, our annual charity fundraisers have benefited the 501(c)(3) Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation and allowed us to donate more than $800,000 to help Perrysburg Rotary Park grow and evolve into a vibrant recreational gathering place. Perrysburg Rotary Community Park now offers:

  • The Welch Family Pickleball Complex featuring eight pickleball courts
  • The Steve Hopkins Tennis Complex with five USTA regulation and lighted tennis courts
  • An all-inclusive playground through a partnership with Wood County Plays

OUR GLOBAL LEGACY PROJECT

THE DEBORAH HOUSE, TIMISOARA, ROMANIA

In 2001, what began as a simple request for help from one of our Perrysburg Rotary Club members has turned into one of our club’s legacy projects. The Deborah House, a home for abused and orphaned young girls in Timisoara, Romania, was built with the financial support of the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation and Perrysburg Rotarians. In addition to helping fund the construction of the Deborah House, we have contributed funds to purchase a van, install a security system, build four greenhouses to help feed the girls and teach them vocational skills, and provide computers for the girls’ schoolwork. For more than 20 years, Perrysburg Rotarians have often taken time to travel to Romania and provide on-site help and support. In the process, we’ve helped to transform the lives of more than 100 young Romanian girls whose lives would have been much different without our club’s help.
